i find it personally quite weird what oracle now does
They seem to throw everything on the browser plugin/applets (those are not
used so ...)

But webstart or eclipse update repositories have nothing todo with that..

they seem to kill of any java client tech..

community's progress on this issue. Also, the Eclipse Architecture Council
have been discussing this recently

don't think there is a final conclusion as of yet.
